How I use ATmosphere today in 2026
It all started with my Bluesky account in late 2024.
Back then, the ATmosphere—in its current form—was not even conceivable. There was simply Bluesky, with that faint idea of eventually becoming decentralized and open someday.
And these days, it feels like new apps are popping up every day. It's become a huge and exciting playground, and I have to admit that there are already a few ATproto-based apps I couldn't live without.
So, which apps in ATmosphere do I use the most, and for what purposes?
Bluesky / Eurosky
I’m actually spending the most time on this microblogging service right now. I mainly post about photography and Lomography here. The friendly and engaging community is a major reason why. I’ve never tried Twitter / X, but I have used Instagram, and I have to say that I really miss interacting with other people on Instagram. Another reason why Insta doesn’t even come close to offering me what I get on Bluesky is that the feed there is more interesting and worth reading to me. Instagram feels like a constant distraction, while Bluesky simply shows me what interests me.

I'm growing fonder of Pocket every day. For me, it's the perfect complement to Bluesky. Anything that requires more text than the usual 300 characters on Bluesky finds its place here. I never intended to have my own blog, but with pckt.blog, it just sort of happens naturally. I appreciate how easy it is to post all kinds of content there. And here's something else I've noticed—writing helps organize your thoughts. So go for it!

I’m the kind of person who collects a lot of bookmarks on a wide variety of topics in my browser. That works really well—up to a point.
